Tax Preparation & Planning

As part of our uncommon three-prong approach, we don't just offer tax guidance or advise clients to speak with a tax professional, we actually prepare tax returns for our financial planning clients. After all, taxes can have a big effect on your overall financial plan, and that effect is taken into consideration during each stage of our comprehensive planning process.

By providing tax planning services in conjunction with the management of our client's assets we have a better chance of implementing tax planning strategies prior to year-end. As a result, we can help our clients avoid missing potential money saving opportunities. If the first time you’re discussing these strategies is while your preparer is filing your taxes in the next year, it’s too late to take advantage of them.  We won't be stuck looking in the rearview mirror. Being aware of your tax situation allows us to make proactive recommendations that could improve your financial situation down the road.

Our team has experience with tax planning strategies, such as qualified charitable donations, Roth IRA conversions and capital gains planning. We can run through these and other scenarios to help you understand their benefits, as well as how they may affect your cash flow and overall financial plan. It is important that we know about your entire financial situation before giving you advice, so we ask that our clients provide a copy of their tax return, even if we aren't preparing their taxes. This allows us to coordinate between investment and tax strategies, and to better address your short- and long-term goals.
