Pete Ruma, CFP®, CLU, ChFC, RICP®

Financial Advisor

Pete is one of the founding members of Gould Ruma Financial Advisors (2008) and now serves more than 250 clients who have entrusted him with their financial planning and asset management needs.

Pete has more than 35 years of experience in the financial planning industry, and he has worked with many of his clients for nearly as long. He views financial planning, not as the creation of a plan, but as an ongoing process. He sees the reward of the long-term relationships he forges with his clients as the “a-ha” moment, when their focus shifts from a single piece to how the pieces of their overall financial puzzle come together. His primary goal is to help his clients simplify their lives by focusing not on financial outputs but financial outcomes.

Pete has been in the financial services industry since 1986. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards; a Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP) conferred by The American College; a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). His practice focuses in the core areas of financial and retirement planning, asset management (through LPL Financial), and tax planning.  By providing wealth management and tax planning holistically, Pete provides comprehensive planning services, not found at many financial services/financial planning firms, to help his clients address their financial goals.

Pete received his BA in Political Science with a Minor in Economics from Bowling Green State University in 1985. He is a past Board Member of the Financial Planning Association and a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Pete received his FINRA Series 6 in 1987, Series 63 in 1991, Series 7 in 1998 and Series 66 in 2001 and are held through LPL Financial. Pete exceeds the minimum continuing education standards required to maintain his CFP® credential, as well as his life insurance license and securities registrations.

Pete and his wife, Jan have two grown children. He is involved in the St. John’s Jesuit High School Alumni Association, Foundation Board and Bowling Green State University Alumni Association.
